The position requires strong marketing and communications skills, as well as deep understanding of the technical aspects of technologies used to secure cloud-native, DevOps and traditional IT infrastructure (Such as SSL/TLS, SSH and code signing). You must also have a broad knowledge of enterprise software, SaaS services, enterprise IT environments, and rapidly evolving security technologies. You must be comfortable and enjoy working closely with sales, sales engineering, product management, and marketing. The Technical Marketing Engineer:

  • Works with the PMM Teams to develop and execute technical aspects of their go-to-market plans and ensure internal organizational readiness
  • Possess recent, relevant and demonstrated success managing technical marketing that supports the sale of information security solutions to a Global 5000 audience
  • Define and delivers technical benefits and integration expertise to Venafis enterprise sales and sales engineering teams
  • Translate and articulates technology platform benefits (i.e., administration, security, integration benefits, etc.)
  • Develop sales tools such as sales scripts, presentations, and demonstration scripts and can effectively communicate solution benefits with internal sales teams and channel partners
  • Develop technical sales enablement training session and assets that help internal and field sales teams understand product benefits, buyer persona value, pain points, and key messages relative to all the products in our portfolio
  • Work with solution architects and services teams to document technical concepts and ensure our products are not only well understood, but utilized to the greatest extent possible
  • Work with the director of competitive intelligence to gather and analyze competitive data and create assets and educational tools as part of a comprehensive competitive intelligence program
  • Cantake an abstract idea, design it out, build the plan and deliver thedetails
  • Participate in product beta programs and works with customers, product marketers, product managers, and engineers to enable testing, gather detailed feedback and replicate issues
  • Provide technical product support for sales and marketing events, including customer interactions and on-site visits
  • Actsas an evangelist for Venafisolutionsto market influencers, industry analysts, prospects, and customers at trade shows, industry events, and conferences
  • Buildsoutand maintainslab environments and runsdemo systems,replicatingcustomer environments andreal-worldsimulations, in support of go-to-market and enablementefforts

Key duties:

The primary responsibilities for this role include the following, but will evolve constantly:

  • Create demos and selling tools based on Command of the Message principles
  • Speakingevents for deeply technical security and PKI-knowledgeable audiences
  • Technicalcampaignsfocused ontechnical approvers andbuyers
  • Webcasts,with pointed demonstrations toarticulateoften obscured or deeply integratedvalue
  • Analystbriefingswith demos
  • Customerfacingtechnicalcontentlikewhitepapers, Solution Briefs, Diagrams, How-ToGuides

The ideal Venafi Warrior will be armed with:

  • Minimum7years of technical marketing or equivalentfor enterprise software vendors
  • Deep understanding ofPKI and private certificate management
  • Deep understanding of cloud-delivered security, security threats, attack techniques, and mitigation options
  • Familiarity with security challenges and solutions
  • Familiarity with account-based selling and regimes like Command of the Message and MEDDIC
  • Deep understanding of enterprise software environments,including the needs forscalability & highavailability
  • Experience writing and editing technical documentation and operationalprocedures
  • Broad understanding ofmodernarchitecturesandtechnical integrations
  • Experience working with product managementandengineering/developmentteams
  • Experiencewithas manyof the followingas possible:
    • Amazon AWS
    • MS Windows/Azure
    • Virtual Infrastructures / Infrastructure-as-Code
    • SaaS Platforms
  • A BA/BS degree in CS, EE or other technical degree, with a preference for MBAs or advanced degrees
  • Proven experience creatinggo-to-marketdemos and toolsfor complex enterprise IT solutions,specifically withsecurity softwarecompanies
  • Experience with one-to-many training of salesand solution architectureteams oncomplex solutions and products
  • Experience in launching new high-tech products anddemonstratingtheirbenefits
  • Exceptionalwritingskills, particularly in creatingclear and concisetechnical guidesfor complexproducts
