Sr. Technical Enablement Engineer

The Sr. Technical Enablement Engineer is the owner of enablement programs that serve Contrast customers, internal teams and our partner ecosystem. The role requires building and maintaining a comprehensive set of training curriculum with responsibility for the successful uptake, delivery and results of these programs.

The successful candidate must be an exceptional communicator, particularly in the area of conveying complex concepts in an easily consumed manner, and an educator at heart. You must be a strategic thinker and take an expansive view of how enablement can lead to the success of customers, employees and ultimately, the company as a whole.

This position is within the Customer Success organization and reports into the Senior Director of Technical Services.

Responsibilities

  • Formalize the charter of the Technical Enablement team; own the strategy and approach for enabling Contrast customers, internal teams and partners
  • Plan, design and build the Customer training curriculum to be delivered across a variety of mediums
  • Similarly build onboarding programs for internal and partner audiences, leveraging blended learning, practice/application, and peer reinforcement to ensure a quick and efficient learning experience
  • Produce the necessary resources for the Professional Services team to deliver instructor-led training in both in-person and virtual environments
  • Ensure offerings are of high quality, technically accurate, up-to-date, and effectively meeting the goals of the target audiences
  • Interact with customers, internal stakeholders and partners to hear feedback; be able to balance disparate viewpoints and determine how best to improve the enablement programs
  • Develop and run a scalable certification program that attests to varying levels of technical acumen, product knowledge and capabilities

Qualifications

  • A proven track record of end-to-end instructional design (analysis, design, development, and delivery) building curriculum delivered in multiple modes (instructor led, web self-paced, blended)
  • 5+ years of experience in an expert role interfacing with extremely tech-savvy customers, preferably in the space of application security and SaaS platforms
  • 3+ years of experience with course-authoring tools and LMS systems
  • Demonstrable history of strong execution and results in complex, cross-department initiatives
  • Ability to learn and understand technical concepts quickly
  • Excellent communication and organization skills, evident attention to detail
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment where change happens, workload must always be prioritized, and productive collaboration with multiple stakeholders is key

Other Tasks

  • Develop and run scalable accreditation programs around technical acumen including, but not limited to, demo certifications and new product knowledge and other areas of specialization.
  • Drive a cadence of learning programs and events that enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the Customer Success and Sales Engineering organizations.
  • Build role-specific technical product training curriculum and certify on technical capabilities.
  • Work closely with the Digital Success Program Manager to develop effective self-service enablement for customers.
  • Measure and report on business impact of enablement programs
  • Build and maintain courseware for internal and external technical sales team members (including lab guides PPTs, WBT, demo guides, role plays).
  • Build and maintain virtual environment blueprints for training classes.
  • Evaluate learners on the successful completion of courses, including assessments of technical presentations and demos.
  • Work closely with Field Enablement leadership along with Technical Sales leadership and Product Management on adding new topics to the curriculum.
  • Balance disparate feedback from multiple business partners on the Sales and Product teams.
  • Collaborate on other assigned project and logistics coordination as needed (e.g., room set up, invites, etc.)
