GitHub is looking for a Senior Partner Engineer to join the Partner Engineering team. Our Partner Engineers are passionate about helping our technology partners successfully integrate with the GitHub Platform and growing ecosystems of powerful integrations.

Our partners build best-in-class developer tools. We care deeply about providing an easy-to-use, powerful platform that empowers partners to become a crucial part of the software development workflow on GitHub. In this role, you'll own the technical relationship with our partners: from ideation, to development, to launch, and finally through to business success. You must have the tools to influence a positive outcome in partner relationships and technical projects. This is an opportunity to use both your deep technical expertise and your passion for helping tackle real problems for real businesses on the largest software development platform in the world.

Responsibilities:

You’ll play a key role in driving compelling integrated experiences with our partners by gathering technical requirements, performing design review, receiving feedback, filtering and distilling partner requests and then advocating for them and working with Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to ensure the partnership is successful.

You’ll propose and implement solutions to improve the integration with partners. This may require working with cross-sectional teams across companies and possibly leading the effort to develop those solutions.

You’ll develop tools, documentation, and repeatable processes to help scale GitHub.

You’ll be an expert in strategic integration points on the GitHub developer platform, including APIs, Apps, Actions, and Security.

You’ll present various solutions, technologies, and proposals at conferences, workshops, and meetings.

Qualifications:

  • You are a software developer with at least five(5) years of experience. You have experience building, deploying, and operating software as part of a business.

  • You are results-oriented and have a track record of shipping and iterating as an individual and with a team.
  • You have a creative flair for software development projects, and can quickly absorb new technologies and translate them into tangible and useful applications.
  • You prefer collaborating with your colleagues rather than working solo.
  • You are able to investigate and understand complex systems, distilling the nuance into actionable steps forward while being able to foster good engineering practices and processes.
  • You have modern SDLC experience including:
    • DevSecOps
    • Continuous / progressive delivery

    • Application performance monitoring
  • When necessary, You are willing and able to travel up to 30% of your time to partners, GitHub HQ, and to conferences.

  • You're comfortable with the GitHub API and GitHub developer platform and have created an integration using it.
  • You have a history of contributing to Open Source projects, and maintain a handful of your own OSS repositories.
