Senior JavaScript Engineer

Location: This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. Once we can safely travel, you may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

On a day-to-day basis you will be working on the team who provides the tools, services, data and dashboards to all executives and engineers to monitor key performance indicators. To ensure GoDaddy customers have a phenomenal experience we provide engineering teams vital information about their speed, performance, availability, quality, and security of their services and applications. This is a highly visible role that will lead all engineering teams to make key decisions about these metrics and deliver top tier performant products and services. An ideal candidate will have a passion for data analysis in-order to provide both frontend and backend applications the necessary information for improvement.

What you'll get to do...

  • Work with newer technologies such as serverless, micro-services, containers, and distributed architectures
  • Write and maintain code in JavaScript and Python
  • Build highly available distributed applications inAWS, Lambda, DynamoDB, Fargate, S3, SNS
  • Build applications to ingest data from external software such as RUM, CloudWatch, APM, JIRA, and GitHub
  • Work with Elastic Search for data storage
  • Build industry leading availability and performance tools that developers trust
  • Be a member of a highly motivated and effective scrum team

Your experience should include...

  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with developing applications on AWS.
  • Proficiency with Modern JavaScript (ES6+), CSS3, and HTML5.
  • Proficiency in multiple modern Backend programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java).
  • Proficiency with various storage technologies, like key-value stores or SQL, No-SQL.
  • Experience with automated software testing.
  • A genuine desire to work as a part of a highly efficient and fast paced team, to build meaningful relationships with other team members, and to provide constructive feedback leading to greater innovation and ideas.

You might also have...

  • Experience in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience with DevOps and understand what deployment means using systems like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack, or Artifactory.
  • Experience with real-time application monitoring
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects
