Remote Finance Manager, Sales Compensation

We are seeking a Finance Manager who will partner across Finance, Sales, Marketing, and People teams to drive alignment of commission compensation to business goals. By partnering cross-functionally, you’ll leverage your financial prowess to provide actionable insights based on data-driven analysis.

Your daily responsibilities will include partnering with sales leaders and the deal desk to share the compensation perspective, and ensure commissions are paid timely and accurately. Strategically, you’ll partner with sales and people teams to develop commission compensation and quota plans to drive desired business outcomes. The leadership team will look to you to provide reporting on key sales performance metrics and ongoing guidance for adjusting variable compensation to maintain alignment with changes in the sales organization.

This position can be fully remote anywhere in the U.S.


  • Partner across Finance, Sales, Marketing and People teams to align the incentive compensation and quota plans to business goals
  • Perform monthly global sales commissions calculations; ensure commission payments are paid timely, commission statements are made available, and documentation is in place to support payroll, accounting, and HR records
  • Provide the accounting team with the information needed to support accurate financial reporting of commission expense, including contract assets under ASC606
  • Lead financial modeling needed to support data-driven recommendations for incentive compensation plans and individual quota plans
  • Project manage the roll-out of quota plans
  • Develop and own the sales performance dashboards; provide actionable insights to the leadership team
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve data, reporting, systems, and workflows needed to support commission payments & sales performance dashboards
  • Maintain a customer service approach in researching and resolving questions related to commissions. In presenting commission statements, complex payments and reconciling items should be clear and concise
  • Other ad-hoc reporting and projects are needed by the finance, sales, marketing, and people teams


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field
  • 2+ years experience developing sales commission plans, preparing calculations and financial modeling
  • 3+ years experience performing complex financial modeling
  • Strong analytical skills; a problem solver, and appreciation for consistency & accuracy. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Experience with commission/sales performance software required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to distill complex concepts and communicate the appropriate level of detail to the target audience
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications
  • Salesforce and Netsuite proficiency is a must
  • Robust project management experience with the ability to manage the requirements of multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to solve problems with minimal supervision
  • Self-starter that adapts well to change in a fast-paced, dynamic workplace
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
  • Experience working in a high growth startup environment is a plus
