Product Marketing Manager - Point of Sale

Heartland continues to build a best-in-class Product Marketing function within Marketing. This position will work with our Point of Sale business and report to the Director of Product Marketing.

We’re looking for a strategic thinker who is passionate and deeply invested in growing the long term value of our customers. You will be responsible for driving cross-department collaboration and alignment with content, demand gen, product managers, sales, communications and training to establish customer personas, positioning, messaging, jobs to be done, and collateral for launches and lifecycle marketing.

You’ve led marketing teams (in FinTech is a plus) and you know how to prioritize and identify what is going to have the biggest impact. You don’t forget the details and understand the importance of analyzing one sentence. If this speaks to you, read on.

What will you be doing?

  • Drive a world-class marketing strategy for our Point of Sale business.
  • Define and own the buyer personas and journey.
  • Partner with product leaders across the organization to develop a cohesive go-to-market roadmap.
  • Develop feedback loops with customers and customer-facing teams to guide and inform your decision making and influence innovations to products and campaigns.
  • Collect and use customer and competitor data (attributes and behaviours) and interviews to develop advanced segmentation to enable personalized messaging, campaigns, and effective customer insights.
  • Strategize, build and execute customer marketing lifecycle programs that deepen customer relationships at scale and drive our adoption/retention KPIs.
  • Utilize your strong analytical ability to evaluate customer journey mapping across multiple channels and customer touch points, partnering with demand generation and digital marketing to develop captivating content.
  • Performance measurement and reporting.
  • Stay on top of product marketing best practices, and consistently share the best of what you learn with your team to infuse it into your ideation, strategy and approach.

What are the requirements?

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You have 5+ years’ experience in a marketing strategy role with one or more of the following: product marketing, content marketing, campaign strategy, customer marketing or growth marketing. Majority product marketing is a plus.
  • You're an excellent writer and think copy should be delightful (we’ll be asking to see your past work).
  • You have a deep understanding of the customer lifecycle and how to create meaningful segmentation of your customers along the way.
  • You are skilled at building product adoption strategies with experience motivating cohorts of customers to use specific features and functionality.
  • You have a proven ability to think strategically and solve problems creatively.
  • Your DNA is wired with customer and teammate empathy.
  • You are data-driven and analytical, with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights - experience with analytics tools and spreadsheets is a must.
  • You have a natural ability to build really strong cross functional relationships and partnerships.
  • You have frameworks you live by.
  • You’re insatiably curious and excited to lead people and strategic initiatives.
  • You’re always working on building/expanding your playbook’ of best practices, tactics, strategies or frameworks.
  • You’re a bit more experienced, so organizational skills and accountability should be second nature.
  • Familiarity or certification with PMA is a huge plus. We’ll be speaking the same language.
