IT Systems Administrator

Fastly is searching for a Systems Administrator to support our in-office and remote Fastlyans. Keeping our IT infrastructure running effectively, securely, and up to date is critical for the day-to-day tasks of every employee. You will have significant experience in supporting a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You are comfortable working as part of a distributed team and will be supporting the operations in our Global offices.

You have previous experience as a Systems Administrator, combined with advanced Service Desk capabilities. You are streamlined and detail-oriented while being able to identify broken processes and provide solutions. You are someone who has touched all aspects of a large SaaS environment and can scale along with the company. On top of your validated history of success, you have a passion for technology and, like us, you value hard work and fun in equal measure.

What You'll Do

  • Deploy and maintain various SaaS applications
  • Analyzes and troubleshoots system incidents to determine the root cause and corrective action
  • Perform day-to-day System Administration of client environments, including but not limited to system monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, project management, and capacity management
  • Provides input and helps to document and maintain standard operating procedures, technical documents, best practices, and customer service guidelines relating to IT System Administration
  • Responding to and resolving end-user IT support requests and assigned project tasks using the JIRA ticketing system
  • Administration of user accounts (complete lifecycle)
  • Participates in interview and training team members

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support roles
  • 3+ years of experience in Systems Administration experience
  • Experience supporting cloud-based IT environments (Google Apps, O365, Zoom, GitHub, etc.)
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of Okta
  • Experience working with ticketing systems
  • Experience with vendor management
  • A positive, empathic demeanor
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment (50+ pounds) as needed
