We’re searching for someone to join our analytics team who can apply their love for business and product data and heart for storytelling to help us study, understand, and further develop our business.

Our Data team works closely with the engineers and designers that build GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, and other GitHub products. We consider our research efforts successful when we build stronger relationships with our users and develop a comprehensive data analytics practice for corporate data.

This individual will need to maintain a comprehensive data framework to manage and align IT strategies, plans and systems to support the organization’s mission, goals and structure.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives alignment between business capabilities and system capabilities
  • Analyzes, designs and implements enterprise-wide analytical solutions (e.g., applications, platforms, security) that align with the organization’s structure, goals and systems.
  • Establishes a Sequence of data domains roadmap and delivery
  • Identifies connected data domains across the enterprise
  • Establishes a common integration framework and API standards that enable scalable, easy integration with third party information providers
  • Provides thoughtful technical analysis on various business concepts under development, including opportunities to build, buy, and/or invest
  • Creates conceptual data models based on use cases

Experience and skills:

  • Excellent quantitative and communication skills.
  • Fluency in Excel, SQL data visualization software required.
  • Able to use third party business tools to help surface insights (e.g Salesforce, SQL Server, Synapse, & MDM technologies.
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience working with relevant corporate data sets
  • Experience solving real-world data problems with code.
  • Ability to direct and organize program activities
  • Skill in influencing, negotiation, mediation, and problem resolution
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities under pressure
  • 10+ years of IT experience within Global IT environments including cloud and third party outsourced components
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Administration (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field is required. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis
  • Ability to establish and evaluate program policies, procedures, goals and objectives that support the strategic plan
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to logically assemble and evaluate information
  • Ability to prepare concise reports and analyze complex information
  • Demonstrates problem solving, decision-making, and process-improvement skills.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and capabilities

(Colorado only) Minimum salary of 104,400 to maximum 221,500 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired in Colorado.
