Are you a licensed Architect looking to impact the future of architecture? Did you enjoy studying for the ARE and are passionate about helping others do the same? Are you known for your ability to execute with a high degree of expediency and accuracy? If so, Black Spectacles’ Architect Education Specialist role may be the perfect opportunity for you to grow in your career.

We’re on the hunt for an Architect to join the Black Spectacles learning team as a go-to subject matter expert. As an Architect Educational Specialist, you’ll guide the direction of our learning content by advising on all things architecture as we improve our ARE test prep content and build new products.

At Black Spectacles, we’re a purpose-driven company aimed squarely at educating and inspiring architects across the world so they can thrive in their careers.

Our platform attracts architects around the world who want to push the limits of their industry. Our content which includes podcasts, design tutorials and exam prep helps architects keep pace with emerging technologies and software so they can do their best work.

Black Spectacles is Chicago-based with a fully remote staff. We are a Great Place to Work-Certified company and ranked #11 in Education on the INC. 5000 America’s Fastest Growing Company List in 2019. To keep that momentum going strong, we’re expanding our team of enthusiastic go-getters.

You will:

  • Collaborate with other Learning Team members, including learning designers and other architects, to research and develop content for study materials. You’ll be at the helm of ideating and writing test prep content and working with video and motion graphics teams to make tough architectural concepts come to life.
  • Hire, evaluate, and oversee architect consultants for project-based work.
  • Inform the direction of current and future Black Spectacles products as a subject matter expert by proposing, developing, and refining content that resonates with the architecture community.
  • Be responsible for the ongoing QA of Black Spectacles content, particularly ensuring the accuracy of practice exam and quiz questions and clarifying customer issues when needed.
